The winter holidays are a magical time of year to connect with your friends and family.

With time off from school and work, it’s a great time of year to jet off to a warm locale to escape that cold weather. Why not take advantage of your winter break to escape down to the Caribbean for a beach vacation? Trade in snowman making for building sandcastles, snorkeling colorful reefs, and trim your tree with starfish and seashells.

Caribbean weather is beautiful year round and it’s the perfect time to enjoy the sun, white sands, and pristine turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands!

We welcome wonderful families and couples for Christmas and New Year’s weeks each year. The islands hold a special magic this time of year as happy travelers jet in for a week of sun, swimming, and beach combing.

Here are some fun ideas to plan for your Caribbean Christmas:

Take a Beach Christmas Photo:

Have the family pose on the beach in their best sun dresses and Hawaiian shirts, plus a Santa hat for everyone! You can write in the sand the year, Happy Holidays, or whatever you please! There are tons of great photographers on island and its a great opportunity for a photograph you’ll keep forever.

Surprise your loved ones with a gift of a boat ride:

A day out on the pristine waters of Turks and Caicos is one you’ll never forget. Take the family out to sail, snorkel/dive, or simply cruise around the islands for a wonderful holiday gift.

Fish for your Christmas Dinner:

How about trading in a turkey or ham for delicious Snapper or Grouper? Take a chartered fishing trip out to catch Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Grouper, or other fish. Prepare a wonderful island themed holiday meal with your family and enjoy a lighter meal, perfect for a Caribbean celebration.

Volunteer to teach your family the true meaning of Christmas:

How does walking an adorable island puppy and helping make a difference sound? Well, you can do both by visiting Potcake Place, a wonderful local non profit aimed at helping local island dogs called Potcakes. You can help associate the dogs with humans by adopting a puppy for a morning. Take the puppy on a walk and offer lots of cuddles for a memorable day!

Visit the Beaches Christmas Tree:

The island does some fun Christmas decorating, and you can find the giant Yule tree in the Salt Mills roundabout.
