Tips for Traveling to the Caribbean During Hurricane Season:
- Buy travel insurance. We always recommend for guests to purchase travel insurance, but it is especially important during hurricane season. This is because storms in the Caribbean can affect flights even if the storm is nowhere near your destination. Having insurance means you can feel more relaxed about the unlikely possibility of a hurricane affecting your travel. The general rule for fall weather in the Caribbean is it is mostly perfect weather with a few storms across the region.
- Enjoy the savings: Traveling to the Caribbean during the fall is very budget friendly since villas, flights and even excursions can be a fraction of winter prices. Be sure to plan amazing boat adventures, scuba diving outings or deep-sea fishing with the savings!
- Plan your dining out: The island is blissfully low traffic during the fall months, making for great experiences! You can go to the beach and discover you have the entire shore to yourself. You can get through the grocery stores lightening quick. But some restaurants do close during the lowest travel season, so be sure to check restaurant websites.
