Where in the World is the Turks and Caicos?
The Country of Turks and Caicos is made up of over 80 islands and cays, divided into the Turks Islands and the Caicos Islands. They are located in the Caribbean, south of Florida and due east of Cuba. The islands are a very short flight from most Eastern US cities; just 3.5 hours from New York and 2 hours from Atlanta. Most people fly into the main island of Providenciales, which is often called Provo for short. Provo is a 23-mile wide island with the International Airport, many hotels and restaurants, and a lot of great vacation rental villas to choose from. Provo is home to Grace Bay Beach and many other great beaches including Long Bay Beach, Taylor Bay Beach, Sapodilla Bay Beach, Thompson Cove Beach, Babalua Beach, Leeward Beach, and others.

Getting to the Turks and Caicos
The best way to get to the Turks and Caicos is by flying into Providenciales International Airport (code PLS). Here are a few tips for booking your flights:
- Using a website like kayak.com can help you see what carriers fly direct from your nearest airport and helps compare flight prices.
- Flight cost can vary depending on your travel dates, but a general rule of thumb is to book flights at least 3-10 months before travel.
- Since flights can be more available than accommodations at times, its best to check with villa or hotel availability first before booking flights.
- It is good to know if your accommodations have a minimum night requirement or standard check-in and check-out day so you know what dates flights should be arranged. For example, our villas are generally offered on a Saturday-Saturday, 7 night schedule.
- Most villas and hotels have afternoon check-ins around 4pm and morning check-outs around 10am, so see if you can find flights that make those check in and out times work.
