Set on the waters of Turtle Cove Marina, the Shark Bite Bar & Grill is run by owner Shannon Myers.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Shannon for an in-person interview to get to know a little bit more about her and her business. Here’s what she had to say:
#1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your establishment:
My name is Shannon and I am the owner of the SharkBite Bar & Grill. Our restaurant is located at Turtle Cove marina, positioned on the island of Providenciales, in the general vicinity of Grace Bay. We specialize in eclectic cuisine and are well-known for being one of the more casual and affordable restaurants on the island – with an incredible view, if I do say so myself.

#2. How long have you been open for?
The restaurant itself has been open for more than 20 years, and I bought it from the previous owner just over 13 years ago. We bought it “as is” and haven’t made many changes to it at all – you know what they say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
#3. What is your favorite dish that you serve?
I have several favorite dishes, it’s so hard to choose! I really love the almond crusted grouper. It’s probably the most famous by far here. We also do a really good burger – it’s homemade in- house and made fresh, like everything we cook here. Our Philly Cheese Steak is incredible. I’ve had people tell me, from Philly, that it’s as good as the ones you can get in Philadelphia.

#4. Where do you get a lot of your products since you are located on an island?
Everything, with the exception of fish and conch, is brought it. It’s brought in generally through IGA, because they are the most consistent.
#5. What is something you would like to share about your restaurant to our guests?
It’s always nice to know that our restaurant has direct TV’s so we can get all the sporting events live and in real-time. There are not a lot of other restaurants that do this, so it’s something I like to highlight.

We are located right on the water so the view is top notch. Not to mention my staff! We have such a good group of servers, cooks, and bartenders and we all love to have a good time and to show our customers a good time as well.
#6. How long have you personally been on the island?
I’ve personally been on the island for 13 years and I absolutely love it. I am originally from Labrador, so it’s such a drastic difference. I’ve been in this business since I was 18 years old and there’s nowhere else I would want to do this than in Turks and Caicos.
#7. When you aren’t working and running this establishment, what is your absolute favorite thing to do on the island?
I love to paddle board! I love to do the Leeward cannel or to go down to Chalk Sound. Those are the best by far. If you don’t have a paddle board that you own, you can rent one from Paddle Board Provo – they are also the owners of Big Al, another restaurant on the island.
